Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice. We are here!

The AFA campus is a visible sign of our integration. We invest in the best possible equipment for research and teaching, developing both classic and modern working environments.

The Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice consists of three historically separate, albeit functionally integrated buildings.

The oldest of them — the icon of modernist architecture — is currently the seat of the University Authorities, administration and the Faculty of Design. The Graphic Arts and Graphic Design departments are housed in an adapted military barracks building and are connected by a modern building situated between them, designed as a place of education and space for cultural activities for both students and local residents. Here you will find the Department of Painting, as well the studios available to all students: painting, drawing, sculpting, film studio, lecture and computer workshops, laboratories for motion pictures production, modeling and a room for spatial activities, which is also an exhibition space for large-format works.

The building offers functions which can also be used by people from outside the Academy: a library with a reading room, auditorium and cinema room, restaurant, and a shop with art supplies.

The concentration of the infrastructure fosters communication and cooperation between faculties and builds the atmosphere of the academy.

The Academy also has its own Rondo Sztuki Gallery, located in the centre of Katowice.
