Born in Katowice in 1964, a graduate of English philology from the University of Silesia (diploma obtained in 1988). She wrote her Master's thesis on concrete poetry and graphic signs under the supervision of Prof. Tadeusz Sławek. Interested in art and music, she is a visual artist herself. She has taught English to students at the University of Silesia, Silesian Medical College in Katowice and School of Banking and Finance before joining the staff of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice in 2009, which has allowed her to combine her personal interests with her linguistic qualifications. She has translated into English the academic articles published in the conference proceedings issued by the AFA: Horyzont/Horizon and Bieguny/Poles.
