A+ category for AFAD Katowice
The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice has been granted the A+ research category, conferred on institutions engaged in research activities of outstanding quality, comparable with leading European academic centres.
The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice has obtained the A+ research category in the discipline of fine arts and art conservation. The evaluation was carried out by experts appointed by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The basic evaluation criteria are:
1) scientific or artistic quality of research,
2) financial results of research and development activities,
3) impact of research on the society and economy.
'I would like to congratulate and thank all who have contributed to this evaluation result. I hope that this recognition, in addition to the prestige, will also translate into an improved quality of our work. I wish everyone an effective and well-deserved rest during the holidays', says Rector Grzegorz Hańderek.
In the previous years our Faculty of Art had the A category, and Faculty of Design the A+, an achievement unequaled by any other Polish art school.
