ARCHIVE PAGE of AGRAFA 2007 edition

AGRAFA 2007 is a review of students’ accomplishments in graphic design
and has been organized by the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice for the eighth time.
The event takes place every two years and is a review as well as competition.

  Post-competition exhibition will be held
in December 2007 in a new gallery ‘Rondo sztuki’
in Katowice. The event will be accompanied
by a conference that will focus on pedagogy
in graphic design. Polish and foreign pedagogy
experts will participate in this conference.

AGRAFA is organized by the Chair of Graphic
Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
From the very beginning its objective is to present
  recent achievements in graphic design.
The exhibition will present works which
result from syllabuses of different academies
  and students’ individual work.

This year the contest also accepts works students
from other schools which co-operate with the AFA
in Katowice in terms of students’ exchange
  programmes: CEEPUS and Socrates-Erasmus.
This cooperation created the opportunity to compare
  international experience in presenting different
creative attitudes and syllabuses as well as rewarding
the most original and inspirational solutions.
It also enables us to exchange information
with European academies, students and teachers
  and to present recent accomplishments
in European graphic design to general public.

About 20 Polish schools have been invited
to participate in AGRAFA this year (Academies
of Fine Arts and other state and private higher
schools which offer graphic design classes
in their syllabuses). For the first time 25 European
schools cooperating with the AFA in Katowice have also been invited (Hungary, Slovakia,
Czech Republic, Great Britain, Romania, France, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Croatia).
